Why 12PointCare

About us

12PointCare is a federation of 10 North Hertfordshire NHS GP Practices. The  practices have had an informal but close working relationship for a number of  years. 12PointCare is a provider organisation which was conceived to allow your  local GPs to bid for core medical work which could otherwise be contracted out  to private medical providers. However, our remit has expanded to include  training, recruitment and workforce planning.

12PointCare was incorporated under the Companies Act 2006 as a private  company on 11th September 2014. All of the elected Directors are local GPs and  Practice Managers. Tenures are usually three years. Our current Directors are  listed in the Our Team section. Why is 12PointCare a company limited by shares? Setting up 12PointCare as a social enterprise may have limited some of the  tenders for which we could bid.

This business structure should enable employees to access the NHS Pensions  Scheme, an important issue in recruitment and retention of key clinical staff.
